10th Anniversary New Jersey Marathon
Farmingdale, NJ – October 17, 2005: PODS (Portable On Demand Storage) of the New Jersey Shore announced today that it will sponsor the 10th Anniversary New Jersey Marathon. Hosted by the New Jersey Road Runners Club (NJRRC), the marathon will be held in Long Branch, New Jersey, April 28-30, 2006.
“Through the efforts of the NJRRC, the New Jersey Marathon supports a number of children’s charities in Monmouth County,” said Michael McNulty, PODS New Jersey Shore franchise owner. “PODS of the New Jersey Shore is proud to impact the well-being of local children and their families in our community.”
Beneficiaries of the New Jersey Marathon include Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Monmouth and Cumberland counties, Interfaith Hospitality Network, Marc Roberts Cancer Fund, Sudden Infant Death Children’s Program, Telecordia Pioneers, Rainbows, Inc., Family and Children’s Service of Monmouth County, Camp Sunshine, Canine Companions for Independence, Long Branch Police Explorers, and the Ronald McDonald House of Long Branch.
“The New Jersey Road Runners Club has established a legacy of community support,” said Art Castellano, president of the NJRRC. “We are grateful for the support companies like PODS offer our club and our community.”
The New Jersey Marathon attracts more than 10,000 participants. It features a USAT&F-certified 26.2-mile marathon, with a new two-loop course through the diverse neighborhoods and business districts in Long Branch and adjacent Monmouth Beach. The weekend’s activities also include the Long Branch Half Marathon, the Gold’s Gym Two-Person Marathon Relay, family activities for all ages and abilities and a health and fitness expo.
